Farr Bounces Back to the Winners Circle
Last Saturday night the ECP Racing team headed back to Sydney Speedway for round 2 of the track championship and after taking the lead early in the race Robbie maintained his position and took the Q7 Maxim to victory lane.
After two 2nd place finishes in the heats Robbie qualified for the top ten draw and after Ian Loudoun picked the number 8 pill we found ourselves starting from position six, probably as good as we could hope for with the format.
Although it looked as though Robbie navigated through lapped traffic with ease and had a comfortable lead for most of the race the night was not without its share of issues.
“We had a gremlin within the motor”, explained Robbie. “Nick worked hard all night to try and eliminate it. It tended to be more of a problem when the track was heavy and the car bogged down so it was nice that the track wasn’t as hooky come feature time”.
“I got a good start and hit the lead fairly early in the race, the car felt good, from then it was a matter of being patient and not getting hung up in lapped traffic”.
Next Saturday night the team heads back to Sydney Speedway where we will be aiming for our third podium in three weeks.
