Robbie FarrLast Saturday night the East Coast Pipeline race team headed off to Archerfield Speedway for the opening night of the KRE Engines Sprintcar series. Even though we were successful at our previous outing we decided to put a new chassis together mindful of the long season ahead.

The night didn’t start according to plan when the front wing broke during qualifying causing Robbie to pull to the infield with only one lap on the track, qualifying him in 15th position.

Robbie started the two heats from 4th and 5th spot respectively and managed to move his way forward taking victory in both heats.

Starting the dash from 6th place Robbie once again worked his way forward to finish in third spot.

By lap three of the A-Main Robbie had moved into the lead and was never headed, going on to take victory in round 1 of the prestigious Queensland Series.

Despite the victory Robbie felt that with a bit more tweaking the team could get some more speed out of the car and we now look forward to this Saturday night when we head back to Archerfield Speedway for round 2 of the KRE Sprintcar serie
