| ( Jan 16, 2012 ) - On a night where passing was at a premium, and every car was about the same speed in the 30 lap A-Main event, Robbie Farr’s slashing run from position #17 on the grid to an eventual 9th at the fall of the chequers was pretty damn impressive. With not one car being lapped, the field paced the Speedway City (Adelaide) circuit at near record speed with most teams being around the same speed and very difficult to put a passing move on.
“It was locked down for sure,” agrees Farr, “but we were able to get by a number of cars and break into the top ten. That scored us some Championship points and prevented a result that could have been far worse.”
The night was a challenge for Robbie from the get go. Farr timed the Orrcon Steel / Vermeer / Hi-Tec Oils #7 Maxim in at position #18 from 41 cars in a result that was reasonably solid considering how late his marble draw put him in the sun-soaked session.
“The later the marble you draw and the later you come out to do your qualifying laps, generally the harder it is to time inside the top ten,” Farr explained, “particularly on a hot, sunny and windy day. Qualifying is so brutal and so important in the overall scheme of things that if you get a late marble and you don’t turn it into something positive your chasing your tail all night.”
And whilst Farr wasn’t chasing his tail necessarily he certainly was heading in the same direction as it prior to the A-Main. “We pulled ourselves out of a hole, no doubt. Making the transfer by running third in the B-Main and then heading out of the pits with 9th place was far better than I thought we’d have at one point.”
Farr now moves into third place, a mere 23 points behind second placed Brooke Tatnell as the WSS competition takes a breather before Wednesday, February 1 at West Australia’s Kalgoorlie Speedway.
This week however is a flurry of major events for the East Coast Pipeline Team with three major events at three major venues in just five days.
Night One for ECPR will see Farr contest the 2012 President’s Cup at Avalon Raceway Lara (Geelong) this Wednesday night January 18, before one night off and then a five hour haul down the road to Borderline Speedway Mt. Gambier for the 2012 Kings Challenge on Friday night January 20.
The team then heads immediately to the two-night $40,000 to win Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic at Premier Speedway Warrnambool. “This is the big money time,” smiles Farr, “this is where you can turn your whole season around. I think our form is good and we’ve got good car speed. There’s no reason why we can’t pull of something special over the next few days.”

FARR BACK INTO GOOD FORM Official press release – East Coast Pipeline Racing January 12, 2012
Robbie Farr has the batteries charged and the East Coast Pipeline Maxim on song as the team heads away from a stout week of competition at Brisbane’s Archerfield Speedway and into South Australia for this Saturday night’s WSS competition at Speedway City.
“Queensland was a fantastic week for us,” admits Farr, “we won the Wednesday night event, we were leading Friday night’s preliminary when we got taken out by a lapped car and Saturday night for the 50 lap final we ran second to Donny Schatz. Running second to Donny is like winning any other nights, so we’re pleased for the whole team.”
If not for the disappointment of the lapped car incident on the Friday night, the #7 East Coast Pipeline / Orrcon Steel / Hi-Tec Oils Maxim would have finished the week with two wins and a second placing to one of the best drivers in the world.
The whole week at Archerfield there were just some phenomenal drivers there,” admits Robbie, “so to come away with the results that we did is a huge testament to the boys for their efforts. We’re back on track and I’m feeling we have the car again to win races.”
Farr’s form also saw him regain second place overall in the WSS Championship points battle.
This weekend the competition is no less fierce as 42 cars including six Americans contest the tenth round of the 2011/2012 Hi-Tec Oils World Series Sprintcars Championship at Adelaide’s Speedway City.
The week after that it gets really busy with four races in five days culminating in the massive $40,000 to win Warrnambool Classic and then a return to Adelaide the following weekend for the 50th Australian Sprintcar Championship.
“This is the time you need to have your act together, and right now I feel that we do. Its an exciting time with all these big races, plus World Series really going off each round,” Farr explains.

| Back To Back Qld Titles for ECPR "No glitches and no drama" was how Robbie Farr described the performance of the East Coast Pipeline Racing teams' successful defence of their Queensland title at Toowoomba Speedway last Saturday night.
Robbie topped the field in time-trials with a blistering lap of 11.846 seconds, more than a tenth of a second quicker than his nearest rival and one of only three cars to break the 12 second barrier.
Courtesy of his quick time he then had to start each of his three heats from the rear of the field where he raced his way forward in each of them to finish with two seconds and a third.
At the completion of the heats the ECPR team found themselves at the top of the points table which qualified them from the front row.
From the start of the A Main Robbie set the pace and in the process set the quickest lap time on lap 21. Robbie ultimately led every lap of the event to claim his second straight Queensland championship.
"The boys done a great job, said Robbie. We had a real solid weekend!"
The East Coast Pipeline Racing Team will next hit the track at Archerfield Speedway on October 1st for round 1 of the KRE Sprintcar series.

| ECP Racing Satisfied with First Hit-out for the Season
The East Coast Pipeline Race team and its driver Robbie Farr ventured to North Queensland last weekend for the Mackay Sprintcar Spectacular and although the final result wasn’t up to their expectations the team left the track convinced that their preparation during the off season will pay dividends.
Nick (crew chief Nick Speed) and I were very happy with the way the car performed, the car was a rocket”, exclaimed Robbie.
“We were equal high points after night one which gave us a front row start for the preliminary A main. We settled in second right behind Steven Lines for a number of laps but as we caught lap traffic running side by side for the lead we touched wheels and spun bringing us both to a stop. Unfortunately we had to go to the rear of the field and we managed to race our way back to 8th.” explained Robbie.
The team came back for night two and managed to accumulate enough points in the heat races to qualify from the third starting position in the A main behind Lines and New South Welshman Jeremy Cross.
Whilst making a move towards the front Robbie got taken out by a spinning Cross and got upside down. The team made the necessary repairs, continued racing and managed to salvage a fifth place finish from the rear of the field.
The next race for the team is the Queensland Sprintcar Title at Toowoomba on September 17th, be sure to come down to the race truck and say hi!

| On the back of a triumphant season that saw the East Coast Pipeline Racing team take their first World Series Sprintcar crown, the team has been busy preparing for the challenges that lie ahead.
Our major focus will be the three big titles which include the defence of our WSS crown, the Australian Sprintcar Championship and the Grand Annual Classic as well as numerous other events which we will participate in.
After our success with WSS we sat down and evaluated our race results. Although we were delighted with our WSS victory we felt like we started the season with too many unknowns, this we feel was due to being behind the eight ball with the establishment of our new race shop facility and a change of chassis and shock package.
From those discussions we mapped out a plan of action for the 2011-12 season.
That plan included the completion of our race shop facility, a change of chassis and further development of our shock package all of which were implemented successfully prior to the end of last season.
With a good base package to work from we now look forward to the upcoming race season enthusiastically.
During the offseason we have also developed our East Coast Pipeline racing ‘Facebook’ group, so we can post news and information to our teams’ fans whilst on the road. The Facebook page can be found at https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/East-Coast-Pipeline-Racing/243795348987370
Be sure to check back in on our website and Facebook page in the coming weeks as we will be making some major sponsor announcements and we will be unveiling a new paint scheme for our race car and transporter.
