Tough Speedweek Series For Ecpr Only Makes Them Stronger
( Jan 3, 2011 ) - Robbie Farr & The East Coast Pipeline team didn’t quite get the result they wanted from East Coast Pipelines Speedweek but at the same time made some good progress going forward with points & development of the #7 ECP/Eagle Chassis.
Round 5 @ Speedway City Adelaide was a 4th place finish for the team on a very tough track, but a solid finish for the team, Round 6 @ Murray Bridge Speedway, earned the ECPR team another top 6 finishing in 5th position after the a main, Round 7 @ Borderline Speedway Mount Gambier still had the #7 Vermeer Eagle hanging on to finish in 7th place & helping the team secure valuable championship points, Round 8 @ Avalon Raceway, Geelong was not what the boys needed, A DNF when your chasing a championship is critical, but the ECPR team now need to make sure that was the glitch round while hunting for a championship.
Warnambool for round 9 was the last swing on the Speedweek tour & tonight’s result for the team even though not a win, got them back in the hunt. Robbie Farr started seventh and finished fourth and in doing so regained the series points lead which he enjoys by six points over David Murcott.
“We sort of got rolling around a bit,” Farr said from the infield. “Fourth is not bad…we were decent but we weren’t great.” He said the three cars in front of him were better on the night. “We will take fourth after Avalon the other night. I wanted to thank all the boys & speedy for their efforts over the past week or so, it is hard work on the road but especially hard when you have to back up night after night, this is a very professional team & im proud to be a part of it & looking forward to the challenges ahead over the next 8 weeks”
The series moves onto round 9 & 10 at Brisbane International Speedway next weekend then back down south heading towards the Warnambool Classic & Australian Sprintcar title.
Keep an eye out on the East Coast Pipeline racing website for continued updates and stay in touch with our race schedule for this new sprintcar season.
