Robbie Farr

Robbie Farr & The East Coast Pipeline Racing team ventured down to NSW last weekend to compete at the Sydney Speedway for the first time this season.

Having to run the handicap system Robbie qualified in 2th position & had two very sharp heat races finishing 2nd & 3rd in each of them placing him out of 12th in the main event.

Running from the 6th row wasn’t such a bad thing until the #7 Eagle was forced off the gas and over the cushion by some traffic problems when Robbie got up to 6th position, this for the car to stop & then having to restart from the rear of the grid.

With half race distance gone Robbie was on the gas to get back up to the front as quickly as he could, laps were ticking by & he was hoping for a yellow but that wasn’t to be the case, as he made his way forward he got to the top 3 cars & finished in 4th position when the flag dropped, a good result for the first visit to PCR this season & a better result considering the double handicap for the team starting out of 12th & then being forced to go to the rear on a restart. When I spoke to Robbie on Monday he passed on these comments for the East Coast Pipeline Website “pretty solid result considering what we had to go through to get there, car wasn’t as good as the two previous weekends but we learnt a hell of a lot for future visits to the venue, looking forward to this week & can’t wait till WSS kick off in Brisbane next month, the season is looking good for us & the team is working well, it’s a credit to the boys on how we have rolled out of the truck so far this season”

This weekend sees the East Coast pipeline team venture down south to Avalon Raceway for the Sprintcar Jackpot Invitational, an event Robbie looks forward to each season with the different format on offer, you start with two 20 lap features first up & that makes for good racing.

Keep an eye out on the East Coast Pipeline racing website for continued updates and stay in touch with our race schedule for this new sprintcar season.
