Ecp Racing Gets A Hat-trick

Over the last three weeks the EastCoast Pipeline Team has been unstoppable when they enter the Speedway's right across this big brown land of ours.

The first win came at Bunbury for "The Krikke Boys" race (5 wins for Farr), then off to Perth's Motorplex for the "Nanovich King of Wings" (4 wins) and then last weekend in Adelaide for the postponed "Sprintcar Masters"(2 wins).

"Going back to Western Australia is always a highlight for the travelling ECP Team and this time was no exception. It was just great to race and win both events the way we did." commented crew chief Nick Speed.

Not only does the ECP Team have fun on the track, they have a lot of fun off the track with the other teams. On one of the nights off several of the teams were enjoying the good weather in Perth and decided to have some hair cuts and raised $3000 for "CHARITY". Keep an eye on teams over the next couple of weeks to see who has a shaved head?

Night one of Nanovich King of Wings started just the way you would want, setting fast time, made the transfer in the heat and started up the front in the feature.

"All we needed to do was finish in the top 4 to be locked into the A main for the final night and we did that. We had to move to the bottom side of the race track due to a hole in one of the oil hoses, so yes we were lucky to finish inside the top 4," Robbie said this week back in Sydney.

Come feature time on the second night Farr started out of position 4 and with four attempts he went to the outside and lead the race only for the yellows to come on for a complete restart. On that fourth start the lights stayed green and Farr was never headed until he caught lapped traffic. Once that happened Brooke Tatnell was right on the ECP Teams rear nerf bar and pulled a big slide job but got sideways in front of the ECP No7, Allowing Farr the chance to get back underneath to regain the lead and did that after some slight contact with Tatnell and was never headed from there.

ECP Team driver Farr was out in clean air and won Western Australia's two biggest Sprintcar events in two weeks.

Last weekend the boys headed to Adelaide for the "Sprintcar Masters" in what were very trying conditions.

Farr explained, "The weather in South Australia has been 35+ degrees over the last couple of weeks and Wendy Turner & staff did a great job in having a decent race track".

Everything seemed to fall ECP Racing's way and they were never challenged in the feature. "It is nice to know that the J&J chassis we are using this year are responding the way we want them to and we are only getting stronger with the J&J's" Robbie said.

What a three weeks it has been for the entire ECP team. With Easter this weekend and the final night of the Australian Sprintcar Championship coming up (March 29) at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway the whole team are looking to finish the year off in style.
