25273The new season has brought mixed results for Robbie and his new team, East Coast Pipeline Racing. After a hit out up North in Queensland with some good results it was of to Western Australia to start the WSS tour with a pleasing result in round 1.

After four rounds of the World Series Sprintcars, Robbie sit in second place on the points table, mostly the results for the heat racing and the main events have been good and promising for the East Coast pipeline Team.

Time trials play a big part of this series and Robbie has been in the top seven qualifiers at each round so far which is a very good achievement when you look at the some of the qualifying draws and the Track conditions. Most tracks have been very slick so far but the team have been able to keep on top of this for qualifying.

So with the good time trial qualifying and going forward in all the heat races this has allowed Robbie to make the WSS dashes at each round where he and the team have taken two wins, a third and a fifth place finishes.

Now that first win of the Series has not yet been acquired but the performances so far have indicated that the car and the driver have the speed and are ready to step up and take some wins. Although Robbie lead the first ten laps in round one at Kwinana he had to settle for the runner up spot on the night. Round two and the main event plans didn’t go to plan with a disappointing ninth place. Onto round three and all looked good after the round two disappointment, qualifying third fastest.

Unfortunately Robbie’s East Coast Pipeline car received some chassis damaged in one the heat races but that could not hold back the team from making the dash and then following that up with a 5th place finish in the main.

Speedway City in Adelaide is normally a good track for Robbie and after going out with a late time trial on a slick track the results was good with sixth place qualifying. Two strong heat race and another win in the dash put Robbie of the front row for the main event. Okay the long and short of this event was that Robbie was beaten of the line at the start and he was to remain in second place for the entire journey.

Next up is round five at Archerfield in Queensland, now Robbie has had some good WSS results here so a strong result will be the goal.
