Robbie Farr will team up with Queensland star Todd Wanless in a two car sprintcar team with the Thorley Brothers, Aceway Transport, ABC Auto Group Motorsport Team. The first planned event for the Farr, Wanless combination will be in Queensland for round seven of the Comp Cams Series at the Archerfield venue.

Robbie was pleased to receive the offer to join Wanless and the Thorley Brother operation, the team had already been looking to expand to a two car team next season but with Robbie’s Titan deal finishing after the recent Australian Title, Todd and the Team advanced there intended plans to start in March of this season if Robbie was interested. After the formalities were done the Aceway Transport / ABC Auto Group Team were very quick to purchase a complete ready to go sprintcar for Robbie. What better way to give your new team driver the best chance of success than to purchase the car that Robbie has driven to multiple feature wins this season, The Q36 Titian Maxam and its power plant is now the new addition in the Thorley Brothers Team. With a make over and a new number on the tail tank Robbie will continue his strong links with the Queensland based team.

Todd and Robbie have been good friends for many years both on and off the track and along the way have been racing each other in the sprintcar ranks for some ten years or more. These two drivers have both had great success not only in sprintcars but also the speedcars. Robbie won the speedcar Title back in 1997 plus other feature events both here in Australia and New Zealand. Todd has also been a front runner over the years with great success and is currently mixing sprintcar and speedcar duties this season. With what these two drivers have in common they have very rarely met each other in the speedcar competition. Both drivers were contesting last weekends Speedcar Title but engine problems for Robbie and Todd didn’t allow them to pit their skills against each.

Robbie and Todd have a family background of Motorsport that has seen them excel in just about all the divisions they have contested, the competitiveness that will be created in the team should make this one of the most competitive teams in Australian Sprintcar racing.

Robbie is looking forward to this new chapter in his racing career but before he steps up to the new team he has commitments with one of his old teams, the “Krikke Motorsports” outfit to for fill and one show in New Zealand. Robbie will rekindle his relationship with the Krikke Team at the Sprintcar Nationals in Adelaide this weekend before heading to New Zealand for a prior commitment then returning to Western Australia for the Krikke Boys Shootout and the Nanovich Tribute races.

“ I’m definitely looking forward to being a part of the Thorley Brothers, Aceway Transport, ABC Auto Group team, Todd and I have been good friends right throughout our racing careers so it will be a little easier for me to settle into the new team. To get to know all the team members and the way the team operates shouldn’t take too long either.”

March the 18th will see the team step out for the first night as a two car operation, “ I sure am looking forward to the 18th of March and hope both my new team mate, Todd and I can bring home a one, two to celebrate the new partnership”

Robbie has a lot of racing to do yet this season and thanks his personal sponsors, Revolution Racegear, My Music, KTM Motorcycles, Action Sports & Corporate wear for there continued support.

The Thorley Brother, Aceway Transport, ABC Auto Group Race Team plans are to contest as many events in Queensland and one or two in Victoria where possible plus the Easter trail.
