November will see Robbie Farr open his down south racing account at Speedway City in the Sprintcar Masters this Saturday night. Robbie in the Queensland #7 Cool machine will contest just about all the major sprintcar shows in Victoria and South Australia along with a couple of visits to Western Australian during the season.

The Queensland based Thorley Brother Racing outfit will be giving Robbie all the right gear to be a serious front running contender at all events over the season along with his team mate Todd Wanless in the Q61 Cool..

So far Robbie and the team have contested seven events starting of in the far north of Queensland before a couple of shows at Archerfield followed recently by two shows at Parramatta. In the words of Forrest Gump “life is like a box of chocolates” well that’s how the opening part of the 2006-2007 season has gone for Robbie and the Thorley Brothers team, you just never know what you will get! Although most results have been at the pointing end of the events and have been pleasing there have been a few disappointments. Robbie has been around long enough to know the ups and downs in this sport is something that you have to accept.

The overall results are positive with five top four Main event finishes, Three top three dash placings along with three first and three second places in heat races contested, most of these results and a few other minor placing have been contested in a car that Robbie has raced not only for the start of this season but that he campaigned right throughout last season.

Well all that changed last Saturday night at Parramatta where the team had put Robbie’s old Maxam away and ran the new John Cooley machine with very promising results. Straight up Robbie set quick time at the Parramatta invitational, he went on to follow the time trial up with second place in his heat and a second place in the dash as well. Robbie went on to take a satisfying third place in the Main event on the track before being elevated to P2 after the race winner was disqualified.

Robbie was pleased with the performance of the new chassis and along with his crew chief “Nick Speed” the general feeling was that they learnt alot from the nights events and that there is a little homework to be done to get on top of the Thorley Brother, Aceway Transport, ABC Auto Group #7 Cool.

With over thirty plus entries for this Saturday’s Speedway City’s Sprintcar Masters
Robbie knows that a good time trial will be required to get the nights campaign off in the right direction. You can bet that Robbie will be working hard for further success at this venue that has been so rewarding to him over the years. Also if you make it to the show don’t forget to get down to the Thorley Brothers Racing trailer after the show and say hello to Robbie, Todd and the team.
