Robbie Farr picked up his first Sprintcar Master Crown and also takes out the 2005 Triple Crown series title at Speedway city in Adelaide last Saturday night. After the success of the past two weeks in taking out the Victoria Sprintcar title and the ANZ $10000 to win shows at Sungold Stadium in Victoria, Robbie came to the Adelaide venue with one thing in mind, win the Master. As the two previous events were part of the Triple Crown Series and the Master was the final show in the series, Robbie needed a top three finish to be sure of claming the overall Series title. As usual all guns were blazing with the Q36 Titan maxam being pushed hard through the heats to try and get a good starting position in one of two the dashes. With a first and second place in his heats, Robbie just missed out on being the top points score by a few points but was happy to take second highest points which was all he needed to start from P1 in the second dash. After taking out the dash win Robbie had secured the number two starting berth for the Main event alongside the top pointscore and dash one winner, Max Dumesny. At the first start of the main Robbie hit the lead going into turn one but before the lap was completed the caution lights were on for an incident back in the field. Take two and Robbie took the lead again opening up a small gap, lap four and Robbie was into the lap traffic, at times going through the traffic the gap back to the Dumesny car opened out to around 1½ seconds. As the leaders worked inside and then outside through the traffic Robbie maintained a slight gap over the V5 car. Another caution period at lap twenty three and Robbie knew one mistake could loose the race for him but he went on to claim the win and his first Masters main event. The delighted Team Titan members wasted no time in calling the boss, Reeve Kruck who was with his daughter racing their speedcar in Queensland with the good news, before settling down to celebrate the win and the Triple Crown Series overall Title. Next Stop for Robbie and the Titan team is the Kwinana Motorplex for the Nanovich Tribute and King of Wings this Saturday night before heading down to the Bunbury venue the following week for the Krikke Boys Memorial. |
