Robbie Farr and the Krikke team knew it would be tough competing again some of the best sprintcar drivers in the world with their smaller 372 engine but Robbie ended up qualifying into Saturday nights 40 lap A Main, but after cutting a tyre he finished right down the race order.

With a delay during Thursday nights qualifying time trails, Robbie was caught out being one of the last cars out. On what was a very slick track, Robbie only set a disappointing 14.201 sec lap and was way down in 43rd position. His results on the opening night saw the “action man” finishing 7th in heat 3, a victory in the C Main and a 10th placing in the B Main.

Friday night was heaps better for the Toyota Genuine Parts Avenger with Robbie setting 4th fastest time with a 12.237 sec lap, that was sensational considering he’s in the 372 cubic inch motor. From there it was a 6th in heat 4, 3rd in the B Main but a non finish in the A Main.

The Saturday night finals saw Robbie again “gassing it” with a 6th in heat 1 and a 2nd in the B Main. Despite his poor results on Thursday night, the team had qualified into the 40 lap World of outlaws A Main. Robbie made progress early but cut a tyre and finished back in 22nd. Still not a bad result considering his Toyota Genuine Parts, PWR Radiators, Terry Shields Toyota, Valvoline, Mercure Hotel Parramatta, Quick Race Parts, A-1 Digital Signs, Revolution Racegear, Mega Motors, Vortex Wings, Bunbury Toyota Avenger was the only 372 engine sprintcar to make it into the A Main feature.

It wasn’t too bad to get into the A after a rough start in qualifying. We had a good car in the Main and were moving forward but cut a tyre and once you change a tyre you go to the rear. The replacement tyre wasn’t suitable for the car setup we had but with a small motor and heavy car, I’m happy!”
