Going into the Christmas break Robbie Farr wasn’t happy with his form so far in this seasons WSS trail but since the break things have been looking up for Robbie and the Krikke team.

The Boxing Day round in Adelaide saw Robbie posting a 2nd and 4th in the heats another 4th in the dash but like most of the other competitors tyres were the big problem with the “action man” blowing a tyre while running in 4th position in the A Main.

The next night the WSS headed to Murray Bridge, with Robbie setting 7th quick time and having two second placing in the heats. It was a good night with Robbie being highest in the points going into the Dash races. He drew 3rd in the Dash but the track was graded just before they hit the track and with it becoming a one lane track, they all finished as the started with Robbie third. In the Main the #2 Avenger greeted the checker in 5th position.

Next stop was Mt Gambier, with Robbie posting second quick time with a superb 11.873 sec lap. In the heats he ended with a fifth and fourth placing and finished up 2nd highest in points. Robbie continued to forge forward and won his Dash but his Toyota Genuine Parts Avenger was set up too tight and he pulled a big wheelie in the 1st corner, Robbie dropped back and he ended the race back in fourth position.

Round four of the WSS Speedweek series at Avalon again saw Robbie setting a good time ending time trails 3rd with a 13.345 sec lap. He again moved forward in his heats ending up with eighth and sixth placing’s. Without a dash Robbie started the A Main in fourth position from where he quickly moved into second and giving Brooke a hard time. American star Daryn Pittman came from nowhere and drove around both Robbie and Tatnell with Robbie ending with 3rd and a great podium finish.

The final round of the Speedweek series at Warrnambool with a 7th in time trails and a 7th and 3rd in his heats Robbie in the Toyota Genuine Parts, PWR Radiators, Terry Shields Toyota, Valvoline, Mercure Hotel Parramatta, Quick Race Parts, A-1 Digital Signs, Revolution Racegear, Mega Motors, Vortex Wings, Bunbury Toyota Avenger was again 2nd highest in points. He continued on and finished second in the Dash but Robbie got caught up in a first lap incident in the A Main and was put into the fence and out of the race.

Then it was the big drive to Brisbane for the next two WSS rounds. The Saturday night after running 7th in time trails, an incident in heat 1 saw Robbie a non finisher but he moved forward in heat 4 and greeted the checker in 5th and 3rd in Dash 1. He came out of position 5 in the main but was out after hitting the fence in the opening lap.

The Tuesday night meeting saw Robbie winning the B Main and finished the A after forging from position 17 in a superb 7th placing in what was a difficult track to pass.

“We have been finding our form with the race car but haven’t found any luck!”

Robbie and the Krikke team head to Wagga on Wednesday 14th for the next WSS round before hitting Adelaide for the big two night 16-17th January WSS series final.
