Last Saturday night, Aussie Champ Robbie Farr took out the $10,000 to win sprintcar victory racing at the Speedway City venue in Adelaide. The “Action Man” was superb all night long in the Toyota Genuine Parts Avenger with the only problem being an incident on the opening lap of the feature when Robbie touched wheels with Max Dumesny, sending Max into the fence and out of the race. The previous week in his first meeting after winning the Title Robbie was again the guy to beat at Kwinana and after being highest in points and leading the feature a flat tyre saw his retirement. The Australian Sprintcar Stampede with $10, 000 to win on offer saw most of Australia’s best sprintcar drivers arriving in Adelaide to try a take the $10,000 pot of gold. Robbie’s Krikke Motorsport Avenger was on the gas right from the first laps in heat 1. Powering through from position seven Robbie greeted the checker in third before winning heat 4. It was a flag to flag win for Robbie in the Dash after coming out of position 1. Starting from position 1 in the Main Robbie had Max Dumesny starting alongside. They battled into turn 1 and with Max up on the highline trying to go around Robbie’s Australia One machine, they touched wheels sending Max into the fence and out of the race. From there it was Robbie’s race going on to take out a good victory in the Toyota Genuine Parts, PWR Radiators, Terry Shields Toyota, Valvoline, Mercure Hotel Parramatta, Quick Race Parts, A-1 Digital Signs, Revolution Racegear, Mega Motors, Vortex Wings, Bunbury Toyota Avenger. “We sure have had a fast car since the title. Should have won at Kwinana, highest in points but a flat tyre while leading stopped me in the feature. Adelaide, I feel bad, I would rather race Max until the end and not just to the first corner, I did get a little sideways and we touched. Now I’m off to New Zealand for the next two weekends before returning and running in Perth on March 6th.” |
