Last Saturday night Robbie Farr racing the Krikke Motorsports Avenger in Western Australia took out another brilliant sprintcar feature victory at the Quit Motorplex Kwinana.

The evening was Robbie’s first meeting of the summer for Shane and the team and boy wasn’t it a superb way to start the new season off with a fine victory. It was round one of the prestigious Car Craft Sprintcar Series and while Robbie and the Toyota Genuine Parts team are not chasing the season long WA series, the night proved to be a great way to shake down the new #2 Avenger machine.

Robbie’s night started in heat two and while he came out from position 4, he greeted the checker in second position but was right on Luch Monte’s tail at the end of the 10 lap race. Heat three saw Robbie score another second placing, but wasn’t able to catch Jeff Leisk so he had to settle for second a little behind the race winner.

Then it was the all important 25 lap feature and with Robbie starting from position 10 it took him almost 10 laps before he could run down race leader Michael Figliomeni. There was a stoppage around that time when Robbie was about to attempt a pass on the then race leader. At the restart the Avenger fuelled up and it took the “Action Man” 2 or 3 laps to get the Toyota Genuine Parts Avenger, back behind Figliomeni. Running the top, Robbie battled for the lead for a number of laps before taking control with around ten laps to go. From there Robbie held command of the race going onto score his second feature victory of the summer. The only problem they had all night was the fuelling up which only struck at restarts but with a few adjustments the Gaerte powerplant should be in A1 condition this Saturday night. The Krikke Motorsport team and their, Toyota Genuine Parts, Bunbury Toyota, Quick Race Parts, PWR Radiators, QA1, Fortron, Terry Shields Toyota, Mercure Hotel, Valvoline sponsored Avenger is looking forward to another top season of racing.

“ It was a great way to start up my season with a win for the Krikke team. We were giving our car a good shake down before the big races, its a brand new Avenger and we needed to see if everything was ok.”

Robbie and the Krikke Motorsports team head to Adelaide this Saturday night for the prestigious Sprintcar Masters before heading to Queensland for the start of the 2003/4 World Series Sprintcars the following Saturday night in Queensland.
