| It Was A Good And Bad Night For Robbie In Adelaide | ||||

The first of the big sprintcar meetings of the summer was held last Saturday night in Adelaide but unfortunately Robbie Farr in the Krikke Motorsports Avenger was a non finisher in the all important Australian Sprintcar Masters feature. Robbie was again one of the stars of the night and with good results all through the evening, he was expected to shine during the running of the A Main. His Toyota Genuine Parts, Quick Race Parts, Avenger Chassis, Bunbury Toyota, Krikke Motorsports, PWR Radiators, QA1, Fortron, Terry Shields Toyota, Mercure Hotel, Valvoline Avenger was a little too tight in the A Main. With the track going away the top five were running virtually nose to tail. The “action man’s” machine was too tight and not handling the Adelaide track conditions too well. In an incident that saw David Murcott 1/2 spin out, Robbie tagged his car then came to a stop, and had to do it all again from the rear. After a couple of laps and with the Krikke Motorsports machine not handling too well, Robbie decided to retire from the race. The night started with time trails and Robbie was looking good to set quick time but a sticking throttle saw the “Action Man” coming in with fourth best time with a 12.722 sec lap. The two heats saw Robbie starting towards the rear of the pack but as has been the case over the past couple of years, he just jumped on the gas and forged forward and ended up with two second placing’s. Then he dropped one position in the dash to start the A Main from position 4. “I was happy with my car speed, but it was just one of those weekends. We were running great early but the car just wasn’t right in the feature. I can’t wait for next Saturday night and the start of World Series Sprintcars.” The 2003/4 World Series Sprintcars start next weekend in Brisbane and Robbie and the Toyota Genuine Parts, Quick Race Parts, Avenger Chassis, Bunbury Toyota, Krikke Motorsports, PWR Radiators, QA1, Fortron, Terry Shields Toyota, Mercure Hotel, Valvoline Avenger team are running the full series. Their only goal is to improve on last years results by one position and for Robbie to become the 2003/4 WSS Champ. |
