Robbie Farr racing the Krikke Motorsport Avenger bounced back last Saturday night at the Avalon Raceway with a great third placing in round 5 of the 2003/4 World Series Sprintcar Championship. While Robbie’s results have been a little disappointing at the previous rounds, last Saturday night he was back stand-in on the gas with the “Action Man” making forward progress all night. In the time trails, Robbie’s Avenger ended up with seventh best time with a great 12.190 sec lap. All the top runners times were very close so his lap time although he was only seventh fastest was still very competitive. Robbie again made forward progress in both his heats ending up with a 3rd and 2nd placing, which was enough to give him pole for the second Dash. Robbie won the drag into the first corner at the start but unfortunately the start was aborted. Robbie lost the restart ending the race in second position and fourth in the points going into the A Main. Robbie’s W2 Krikke Motorsport Avenger started from position 4 in the A Main and while the Avenger still wasn’t as good as he would have liked, Robbie made his way forward and was up to second position in the early stages. Lap five and Robbie lost a couple of spots, dropping down to fifth before climbing back up to and settling into the third positions which he maintained until the end of the race. The track conditions caught the Krikke team out like many others with the #2 Avenger set up too loose for the Main.
