Robbie Farr was pleased with his overall performance at Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway but disappointed to go out of the Gold Cup main event while running in a strong 12 place, Steve Kinser went on to win the race over Tim Kaeding.

While running in a comfortable 12th place behind regular Outlaw driver Donny Schatz things took a turn for the worst for Robbie on lap 27 of the 40 lap race. PJ Chesson had a loose right in front of the hard charging Schatz who inturn tried to take evasive action leaving Robbie with nowhere to go, he made contact with the #15 Parker Stores J&J sending Schatz into a series of rolls. Robbie was not able to take the restart due to a problem with the steering box and not enough time to fix it, putting him into the 23rd finishing spot.

Robbie was disappointed at not finishing the Gold Cup main event after such a great start on his qualifying night. Eighty four cars had contested the two qualifying nights to try and earn a starting spot in the Gold Cup Race of Champions. Although Robbie didn’t finish the main he and the team were very happy to have qualified 11th highest on points with such a strong field of competitors, and to start from position 11 in the main. With the great results from Robbie’s first night, 10th fastest in time trials followed by a pair of third places, one in his heat and the other in the dash at the Chico venue in the Healey 1S car the team can go away very happy with what was achieved in such a short time.

Robbie thanks Brian Healey and the team at Parramatta City Raceway for making the drive with the Outlaws possible which also enabled Robbie to gain more experience against some of the world’s finest sprintcar drivers.

After a few more days of travelling around in America Robbie and his friends will return home to prepare for the start of the Australian season, and maybe Robbie might just be racing at the Parramatta opening meetings before he starts his racing engagements with the Krikke Motorsport team.
