Robbie Farr fresh from his brilliant second placing at Bunbury was looking forward to Adelaide and the annual Sprintcar Masters event. The Toyota Genuine Parts/ Krikke Motorsports Avenger performed superbly at its debut meeting but after setting third quickest lap with a brilliant 12.677 time during the Masters event, Robbie had to settle for fifth in the feature. The Action Man made forward progress in his two heats and with the promoters running a WSS format Robbie had to come from near the rear in both heat races. Heat one and Robbie started from sixth place, finishing one position higher in fifth while in heat three he came from position 5 to move up three places and greet the checker in second position. The pole shuffle saw Robbie dropping a position, with fourth highest points going into the shuffle he had hoped to go forward but it wasn’t to be, Robbie was moved back to fifth starting position in the A Main. In what could be described as a narrow track, Robbie wasn’t able to improve his position and finished where he started in fifth position. “What can I say about Adelaide except it was a narrow track and I was a victim of circumstances. It was one of those nights that didn’t go the way we would have liked but we did learn a lot. I set the third quickest time and then moved forward in the heats but in the main the Toyota Genuine Parts Avenger started fifth and that’s where I finished. At least we got some valuable track time in Adelaide as the WSS hits the SA track in three weeks.” Robbie’s next meeting in the Bunbury Toyota / Krikke Motorsports Avenger will be the opening round of the World Series Sprintcars next Saturday night at Bunbury Speedway in Western Australia. Robbie Farr Motorsports wish to thank the Krikke Motorsports Team sponsors: Toyota Genuine Parts, Bunbury Toyota, Quick Race Parts, Avenger Chassis, PWR Radiators, Revolution Racegear & Valvoline. |
