Round three of the prestigious World Series Sprintcars was held last night at the Kalgoorlie International Raceway and Robbie Farr in the #2 Toyota Genuine Parts Avenger ended the evening off with a sensational third placing in the A Main feature race.

Robbie had raced at the Kalgoorlie speedway back in 1999 but since then the Western Australian track surface had changed and the turns were now a little banked but as usual Robbie was in top form all night. With 25 cars on hand for the WSS round Robbie copped position 23 in the time trails and while the track wasn’t as good as it was in hot laps, the “Action Man” still set an excellent time with a 13.089sec lap placing him fifth fastest.

Although Robbie made bad starts on both his heats, the Krikke Motorsports Avenger still made forward progress after starting from position seven in both the heat races. In heat 2, Robbie ended up with fourth position while in heat six, Robbie really “stood on the gas” picking up five positions to finish second. The car was excellent in both the heats and Robbie in the Avenger was very impressive, giving him enough points for a start in the pole shuffle. Unfortunately Robbie didn’t move up the order and stayed in fourth starting position for the A Main.

Robbie was running a very consistent third for most of the A Main, but with around 10 laps to run a very impressive Ryan Farrell using the high line, which none of the other drivers were using, rounded up the top contenders as well as Robbie moving the “Action Man” back into fourth position. On the final corner, Robbie made a successful move on Max Dumesny reclaiming third position which he held to the checker.
“It was a good solid night for us, with a good car setup and the team all working well together. Our good results here tonight, gives me confidence in going to Adelaide this Saturday night.”

After three rounds of the WSS, Robbie and the Krikke Motorsports, team have become one of the leading teams chasing the series with the “ActionMan” posting great results in all rounds, thanks to all the sponsor, Toyota Genuine Parts, Quick Race Parts, Avenger Chassis’s, Bunbury Toyota, PWR Radiators, Revolution Racegear, and Valvoline.

This Saturday night the team head to Adelaide and although Robbie didn’t post brilliant results in the recent Sprintcar Masters, he along with the team gained valuable track time in preparation for this Saturday nights WSS round.
