Robbie Farr racing the Toyota Genuine Parts Avenger picked up a solid fifth placing in last Saturday night’s World Series Sprintcar’s round at Avalon, giving the “Action Man” enough points to continue leading the championship points tally. While the track was a little greasy Robbie clocked a very respectable time of 12.406sec in the time trails. In fact Robbie held quick time until the very last few cars went out for their time trail at the Avalon venue. The track dialled in late in the session so the “Action Man” ended up setting the fourth best time, Robbie was very happy with the way the Toyota Genuine Parts Avenger was working. With one of his sponsor, Quick Race Parts proprietors Rob and Jenny Richardson on hand to see Robbie race for there first time this season, Robbie wanted to put on a good show, and to fly the flag high for the other Krikke Motorsport teams sponsors, Bunbury Toyota, Krikke Motorsports, PWR Radiators, Revolution Racegear, Avenger Chassis, A1 Signs, Fortron, Central Districts Smash Repairs and the Mercure Hotel Parramatta. Heat two saw Robbie starting from position seven but on a very much single file race track he could only pick up one position and finished sixth. In his next heat, Robbie was a little better with the #2 machine running extremely well and after another seventh starting position, he moved forward to ended up with a fourth placing at the checker. Robbie just couldn’t get a descent break in the heats. After the time trials and heats points were added up Robbie was to start the Main event from position eleven. Right from the start Robbie started to make some forward progress slowly moving up through the field and moved in to attempt a challenge for fourth place when the chequered flag fell. Considering his low starting position against a very quality field Robbie ended up with a superb fifth place, which gave him enough points to continue leading the WSS championship battle. “ I’m happy to moved forward and end up with fifth place after such a poor starting position, maybe another place would have been nice but another top five finish helps keep me at the right end of the points. I’m looking forward to returning this Saturday night at Parramatta, I have had some good success there so I just hope I can continue on with a good run” This Saturday night Robbie and the Krikke Motorsports Avenger team will be racing in round six of the World Series Sprintcars at Parramatta.
