Well it was a evening that Robbie Farr would probably like to forget, with the Action Man striking major troubles at his Parramatta debut in the Krikke Motorsports Avenger. Saturday night’s round six of the World Series Sprintcars saw Robbie’s having what looked to be fuel problem’s right from the moment he went out for hot laps, he and the Krikke team were behind the eight ball for the rest of the evening.

With the #2 Avenger striking troubles Robbie missed his spot in time trails but with the team working quickly to firstly find then fix the trouble, the team did eventually get the sprintcar running reasonably well,
Robbie took the one lap option at the end of the order to go out, where he ended up with a respectable time in time trails. It was a very strong 50 car field that had assembled at the Parramatta City Raceway for the WSS round and with a cut off of the top 36 cars making into the WSS heats Robbie did end up with 33rd best time with a 13.214sec lap.

Robbie won both his ten lap heats easily but only after the Toyota Genuine Parts team had almost rebuilt the #2 Avenger trying to sort out its early problem. Starting from position 16 in the 30 lap A Main, Robbie quickly moved up six positions and battled there for most of the race. He finally ended up with a very creditable ninth position and considering his earlier drama’s the “Action Man” was still able to salvage valuable points after a disappointing evening at Parramatta.

“It was definitely a struggle tonight. We think it was a fuel problem and we changed just about everything twice! We really rebuilt our car but because of that we didn’t get a look at the track, we just kept working on the car, looking for the problem. We ended up coming out of position 16 and finished 9th. We chased our tail all night. It was just one of those nights, we’ll take what we can out of it and move on.”

The next round of the WSS is on Boxing Day at Speedway City, the place where Robbie and the Krikke Motorsports team posted a WSS victory. With Parramatta behind them they can concentrate on the task ahead and that’s winning at Adelaide on Boxing Day and try to regain the lead in the WSS Championship.
