It Just Wasn't Robbie's Night At Parramatta.
Monday, 16 December 2002 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
Well it was a evening that Robbie Farr would probably like to forget, with the Action Man striking major troubles at his Parramatta debut in the Krikke Motorsports Avenger. Saturday night’s round six of the World Series Sprintcars saw Robbie’s having what looked to be fuel problem’s right from the moment he went out for hot laps, he and the Krikke team were behind the eight ball for the rest of the evening.

With the #2 Avenger striking troubles Robbie missed his spot in time trails but with the team working quickly to firstly find then fix the trouble, the team did eventually get the sprintcar running reasonably well,

Robbie Holds The World Series Sprintcar Points Lead After Avalon
Wednesday, 11 December 2002 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
Robbie Farr racing the Toyota Genuine Parts Avenger picked up a solid fifth placing in last Saturday night’s World Series Sprintcar’s round at Avalon, giving the “Action Man” enough points to continue leading the championship points tally.

While the track was a little greasy Robbie clocked a very respectable time of 12.406sec in the time trails. In fact Robbie held quick time until the very last few cars went out for their time trail at the Avalon venue. The track dialled in late in the session so the “Action Man” ended up setting the fourth best time, Robbie was very happy with the way the Toyota Genuine Parts Avenger was working. With one of his sponsor, Quick Race Parts proprietors Rob and Jenny Richardson on hand to see Robbie race for there first time this season, Robbie wanted to put on a good show, and to fly the flag high for the other Krikke Motorsport teams sponsors, Bunbury Toyota, Krikke Motorsports, PWR Radiators, Revolution Racegear, Avenger Chassis, A1 Signs, Fortron, Central Districts Smash Repairs and the Mercure Hotel Parramatta.

Another Great Night For Robbie And Krikke Motorsports
Thursday, 28 November 2002 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
Round three of the prestigious World Series Sprintcars was held last night at the Kalgoorlie International Raceway and Robbie Farr in the #2 Toyota Genuine Parts Avenger ended the evening off with a sensational third placing in the A Main feature race.

Robbie had raced at the Kalgoorlie speedway back in 1999 but since then the Western Australian track surface had changed and the turns were now a little banked but as usual Robbie was in top form all night. With 25 cars on hand for the WSS round Robbie copped position 23 in the time trails and while the track wasn’t as good as it was in hot laps, the “Action Man” still set an excellent time with a 13.089sec lap placing him fifth fastest.

Another Strong Result For The Action Man In Perth
Sunday, 24 November 2002 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
It was another good showing for Robbie Farr and the Krikke Motorsports team last night at the Quit Motorplex at Kwinana with the Action Man scoring a strong 5th in the A Main feature.

Robbie didn’t start the evening off too well in the Toyota Genuine Parts, Quick Race Parts, Krikke Motorsports Bunbury Toyota, PWR Radiators, Revolution Racegear, Valvoline, Avenger. Starting 21st in a 33 car field in time trails, saw Robbie ending up with only 14th quick time (14.199 sec) but the car was too high geared hurting Robbie’s chances of a very quick time. Then in his first heat and incident saw the #2 Toyota Geniune Parts Avenger bending a jacobs ladder leaving the Action Man to finish one position lower than he started and that was in eight position. In his next heat after coming out of position eight, Robbie was back to his usual “standin on the gas” and ended up with a superb second position at the checker.

After gaining pole in a brilliant Pole Shuffle run, Robbie ended up with third placing in the 30 lap A Main feature after breaking a shock and tagging the wall during the race.

As with the usual WSS format, time trails started the night off and with Robbie having a good run at Bunbury just two weeks earlier, he along with the entire Krikke Motorsports team were confident of a good evening. With a great time of 13.429sec, Robbie ended up with fourth fastest time out of the quality 31 cars on hand at Bunbury. Coming out of position 9 in the opening 10 lap heat, Robbie made brilliant forward progress to be in third position at the checker. The next heat saw Darren Jensen spin out early in the race, sending cars everywhere as they tried to avoid Jensen’s machine. Its Finally Showtime!
Friday, 15 November 2002 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
Hi all and after a delayed start to the summer, we have finally hit the race track. At this time I’ve raced at three meetings in three different states and haven’t I had mixed results.

I was originally going to run the first three Parramatta Sprintcar meetings but with all that insurance stuff, the practice day plus the first two PCR sprintcar meets were canned and it looked like I would be a spectator at the season opener. Fortunately John Hart came to the rescue and offered me a ride in his #79 sprintcar. The car has all the right gear and I was able to quickly settle into what was a unfamiliar car but the night was full of small and annoying problems. I finished second in the 1st heat race but a leaking rocker cover dumped tons of oil on my driving suit late in the race. Not having a spare suit Andrew Scheuerle offered me his spare and while it was a little larger than mine I was still able to run the rest of the night.

Farr's Fifth Place In The Adelaide Sprintcar Masters
Sunday, 10 November 2002 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
Robbie Farr fresh from his brilliant second placing at Bunbury was looking forward to Adelaide and the annual Sprintcar Masters event. The Toyota Genuine Parts/ Krikke Motorsports Avenger performed superbly at its debut meeting but after setting third quickest lap with a brilliant 12.677 time during the Masters event, Robbie had to settle for fifth in the feature.

The Action Man made forward progress in his two heats and with the promoters running a WSS format Robbie had to come from near the rear in both heat races. Heat one and Robbie started from sixth place, finishing one position higher in fifth while in heat three he came from position 5 to move up three places and greet the checker in second position. The pole shuffle saw Robbie dropping a position, with fourth highest points going into the shuffle he had hoped to go forward but it wasn’t to be, Robbie was moved back to fifth starting position in the A Main. In what could be described as a narrow track, Robbie wasn’t able to improve his position and finished where he started in fifth position.

No Action For The Action Man, Robbie Farr
Sunday, 27 October 2002 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
It certainly wasn’t the start to the new season that Robbie Farr was hoping for, with Robbie not even making it into the A Main field at Parramatta.

Last Friday night’s season opener at the Parramatta City Raceway definitely gave the Action Man his fair share of troubles, even though his #79 John Hart owned sprintcar was ultra competitive. Small problems plagued Robbie all night long and while comfortably leading the B Main, going into turn three the left rear tyre rolled off the rim, deflating the tyre and sending Robbie into the tyre wall and out for the night.

Winter Is Finished And Now It Is Time For Racing
Tuesday, 08 October 2002 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
Hello all, and thank goodness the racing is set to start this weekend at Parramatta. It’s been a prolonged and hard winter off season and I’ve had a long enough break, to be honest I just want to go racing.

Well it hasn’t been that bad, I did have a few weeks racing in the States during August, after winning last season’s Parramatta City Raceway track championship the prize was a drive in the World of Outlaws and I was fortunate to run at two meetings. The first show was the big 1/2 mile track at Calistoga and it was a fast racetrack. I’ve never raced at that track before, the speed was something else, and I was doing over 130mph at the end of the back straight. It was a bit of a jump, getting into a 410 sprinter after 3 or 4 months off racing, all I can say it certainly opened up my eyes and I really enjoyed the experience. I think we all had a good time, having my crew from the past couple of seasons in Australia with me helped too.

Robbie Farr, Pleased With Gold Cup Performance
Monday, 09 September 2002 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
Robbie Farr was pleased with his overall performance at Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway but disappointed to go out of the Gold Cup main event while running in a strong 12 place, Steve Kinser went on to win the race over Tim Kaeding.

While running in a comfortable 12th place behind regular Outlaw driver Donny Schatz things took a turn for the worst for Robbie on lap 27 of the 40 lap race. PJ Chesson had a loose right in front of the hard charging Schatz who inturn tried to take evasive action leaving Robbie with nowhere to go, he made contact with the #15 Parker Stores J&J sending Schatz into a series of rolls. Robbie was not able to take the restart due to a problem with the steering box and not enough time to fix it, putting him into the 23rd finishing spot.

Robbie On The Pace At Gold Cup
Saturday, 07 September 2002 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
Last weekend was a testing time for Robbie Farr and his crew as they tried getting used to a 410 cubic inch motor and the big fast half mile race track of Calistoga. After a lengthy break since winning the Driver to World of Outlaws premiership at Parramatta City Raceway in March 2002 the team was not happy with their results but tonight’s results were much more rewarding as he felt like he was back home at PCR when he competed in the Gold Cup at Chico California.

After pulling the last pill # out of the bag which meant that he was going to be the last car of the night to Qualify and the track would be gone with 45 cars Qualifying in front of him the start of the night did no look to good.

Farr Goes For A Steady Start In America
Tuesday, 03 September 2002 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
Robbie started his American trip with a few days of relaxation in Las Vegas before moving on towards California to prepare for his drives with the Outlaws in the Kinser car, courtesy of Parramatta Raceway and Brian Healy.

A possible drive in a 410 wingless car at Antioch speedway was passed up for a few laps in a 360 winged sprintcar at the Placerville County Fairgrounds speedway. This semi banked clay ¼ mile track was a good place to get back into the swing of racing again, 33 cars lined up for the night’s events. At the completion of the time trials Robbie was a little over ½ a second of the pace in the 7T car, qualifying in 16 place, this gave Robbie a start in heat four out of P7, moving forward only one spot was not enough to move through to the A Main.

A Chat With Robbie Farr
Thursday, 06 June 2002 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
Robbie Farr has been enjoying his time in the motorsport game so far, with success throughout his go cart days to sprintcars then speedcars and back to sprintcars, in this interview Robbie speaks straight up.

Robbie speaks openly about his racing with Ian Vale

Q. Motorsport is your chosen hobby, mainly sprintcar racing, why?

Robbie.- Probably a lot to do with my back ground and what I was brought up with. I started with go carts but there was always a speedway car or a sprintcar in the garage and that was why when I was old enough it would be the choice that I was going to make. That’s the way of life and what I grew up with and what I have always been around. I enjoy the competition and so that why I do it.
