Just less than three weeks till Robbie Farr Motorsport and the EWT race team start their season 2001/2002 sprintcar campaign at Parramatta raceway on Saturday the 13/10/01. The preparation for the new season is advancing well and all indications are that Robbie and the EWT team along with all the sponsors will be ready for the season that lies ahead. Three of Roberts sponsors Standox, Truckmate and Revolution racegear have got together and taken a corporate box for this season at Parramatta, word has it that the corporate boxes have had a full make over and at present people are putting the name down to get a box when they become available. Robert and the EWT standox paints Avenger will be out doing some television and media promotions for the Parramatta Raceway later in the week which the team is looking forward to, you just cant beat media exposure for your sponsor and race venues. The team transporter has even had some alterations and extensions to enable a better layout and in general more room. The engine that will be used first up has just come of the dyno at Truckmate with some impressive Torque and power in the 700 plus horsepower bracket. This engine is rather unique as the block is an Australian made full aluminium Hawk block. Robert has just recently spent a few days in Melbourne for few reasons, visiting his mother and Steve Melville ( Jamie Maiolo, crew chief) who flew in to Melbourne for his fathers surprise birthday party. Big night was had buy all. While in Melbourne Robert spent one and half days at Quick race parts picking up his new QA1 shocks and testing some of the other shocks from last season on the Quick race parts shock dyno. The QA1 shock the team used in the latter part of last season worked well, so with more information and a few more new shocks with different valving the team is hopping to keep up with the latest in shock technology. Revolution Racegear have done an excellent job to have the new driving suit and crew shirts ready to go for the promotional work and the new race season. Roberts been doing a bit running and other exercises in an effort to keep his fitness up, even playing squash with one of his team members, I think Carl might give Robert a run for his money on the court. At the moment we are hoping to have some pictures of Robert and the racecar in the new look colour scheme up on the web site www.robbiefarr.com early next week if possible and the last parts to the site up as well, a guest book and the front page visitor counter. We at Robbie Farr Motorsport would like to thank every one that has looked in at the internet site. Until next time keep smiling . |
