Opening night at Parramatta Raceway for Robbie Farr Motorsport and the EWT race team was looking good after a marathon final working bee for the team at the home base in Wyong NSW.

On arrival at the track the team unloaded the new look EWT, Standox, Truckmate, and Avenger racecar and prepared for the first of the 2001/2002 race season events. A few of the team sponsor called into the pits to have a quick chat and give there best wishes for the nights entertainment, also one of the teams sponsors Quick Raceparts from Melbourne, proprietors Rob and Jenny Richardson had made the trip to see Robbie do battle with some of Australia’s finest. Other sponsors settled into there new corporate boxes and geared up for a great night of racing.

Engine starts for the wing monster of the clay got under way, and then it was Robert’s turn to help open the show with a few parade laps carrying the Australian flag. At this stage of the event there had been light rain but as usual we were hoping that that was all it would be, a short time later the rain had become heavier then the management were left with no other option but to call the event.

So what do you do? Well you have a quick chat with a few people that you haven’t seen for a while then load up and head off for a quickly organized party at someone’s place. Look on the bright side no gear was torn up and that means the team will be ready and rearing to go at next week show.

Until next time from Robbie Farr Motorsport

Cheers
