Robbie Farr was again in sensational form last night at the Parramatta City Raceway, and after running wheel to wheel for the race lead, the “Action Man” had to settle for a brilliant second placing in the 30 lap A Main

Robbie’s EWT/Standox Paints/Central Districts Smash Repairs /TruckmateValvoline Avenger was on “fire” in the closing stages of the A Main. Coming from position 13, the car wasn’t running at its best in the early laps. A red light stoppage saw the team changing a few things on the machine allowing Robbie to forged his way through the field after the restart. He honed in on raceleader Kerry Madsen with only five laps to run. Running wheel to wheel with Madsen for a couple of laps, Robbie blasted past to take on control of the race. Unfortunately on the final tour, Robbie got caught up in lapped traffic which allowed Madsen to retake the lead, leaving Robbie to finish in a very very very close second. It was a sensation five or so final laps with Robbie and Kerry having the large PCR crowd thoroughly entertained.

Earlier in the night, the Robbie Farr Motorsports/EWT team were looking in good form. After starting from position 7 in heat three, Robbie was in a class of his own and quickly moved through the field to be in second position by lap 2. A lap later and he was in the lead, blasting away to open an almost 3/4 lap lead of the field by the checker. In heat six, Robbie coming from position 4 and after battling for the lead with Adrian Maher settled for a strong second position at the end of the 10 lap encounter.

The night featured a four by two lap match race series but the #56 Avenger was suffering with a slight engine problem which saw the Gaerte powerplant slightly stumbling at the take offs, robbing Robbie of power. He finished up with a fourth and three second placing, with the points tally seeing Robbie ending up with an equal second placing in the prestigious Match race format.

“It was a good race! We were pretty bad early before the red light stoppage. But after we changed a few things it really got going. We caught Kerry and past him and I thought I had got the it done but I got boxed in by a couple of lapped cars and that was the end of it. It was clean racing and I had a lot of fun. The car was good and the boys did a great job. I just didn’t get the right breaks at the end.”

This Saturday night see’s Robbie again returning to the PCR for round six of the Driver to the World of Outlaws series, and with him DNF in two rounds, there is vital points to make up before the “Action Man” can claim back to back Parramatta Sprintcar Track Premiership crowns.
