While he didn’t win the sprintcar A Main last night , Robbie Farr put in another stellar to finish with strong second placing at the Parramatta City Raceway. Robbie as usual “was standing on the gas” in the 30 lap main. Coming from way down in the pack from position 14, the “Action Man” forged his way into second place to behind raceleader (and eventual race winner ) Troy Little on lap 15. Unfortunately Robbie didn’t get the break he had been hoping for and despite a few stoppages he had to settle into second position for the remainder of the race. The early heat races saw Robbie sensationally blitzing the field to win the third heat. Although he started off pole position, the #56 Robbie Farr Motorsports/EWT Auto Dismantlers/Truckmate Avenger looked to be on a class of its own moving away from the quality field to score a good victory. In Robbie’s second heat starting from position nine, he battled in the closing stages with an impressive John Hart to finally end up with sixth position. The 4x2 match race series and Robbie finished down the order after only picking up two seconds, a third and a fourth placings. The Avenger’s powerplant wasn’t running as well as they had wanted with Robbie saying that they will be swapping engine over during the week. “I didn’t get the lapped traffic that I was hoping for. Everytime we hit the lapped traffic, we got a yellow. I was relying on the lapped traffic because he (Troy Little) was doing a great job. I’m not too upset with coming away with second placing, we were a bit off tonight.” After two DNF earlier in the season, Robbie is now running in fourth position and is starting to fight his way back into the Driver to the World of Outlaws Premiership pointscore. This Saturday see’s Robbie Farr returning to the Parramatta City Raceway for another round of the PCR Premiership series, and with Steve Kinser and the big money shows just around the corner, he’ll be out to gain as many points as possible and valuable track time on the ultra fast PCR track. |
