Robbie Farr & the EWT team are not wasting time waiting for better weather

The past few weeks may not have seen any racing for the Robbie Farr Motorsport and EWT Race Team but the wheels are in motion for the upcoming Christmas and January part of the 2001/2002 season.

Now with the visiting Steve Kinser over the Chrismas period and the Parramatta $50000 to Win Summer Slam, things start to get a little busy not to mention some very serious and fast competitors will be on hand along with the regular Parramatta posse, so all efforts are being made to be ready for a full on assault. Towards the end of January the team will travel down to Victoria for the Classic at Warrnambool plus a possible show at Mt Gambiers Kings Challenge before returning to Parramatta for the Australian Title. To win the Australia Sprintcar Championship is something that would mean a lot to go along with the 1997/98 Australian Speedcar title.

Getting home from work to a have a bit of a rest is no easy task any more with the recent purchase of a dog, he just loves to play and carry on for a while until he tires out. Now this dog isn’t your average house dog, he just happens to be a Great Dane and with the name of a great racing driver “ Senna “

Also other new things for the Robbie Farr Motorsport and EWT Race Team are a brand new Avenger chassis that has been built with a few requested modifications from the standard chassis by Avenger.
Thanks must go to Quick Race Parts for helping with this new chassis. This car will be pretty much all brand new from top to bottom with a new Don Ott prepared block, crank, rods and pistons to be assemble by Allen Felsch. The Gearte power plant will probably have another run before the big shows, unfortunately the Gearte dosen’t seem to have that little bit that is needed for getting away at the starts but it runs real good otherwise. While on the motor side the Australian built Hawk motor that was ran for the first few shows has been pulled down to inspect all the components and see how the block looks for wear and tear. The only real problem that was experienced with this motor was temperature related but the reason for this have been found and rectified. There have been a few other changes in the motor but the real test to see if there is any gain in performance will be when it next goes back into the car .

The new EWT Standox Paints Avenger will be in the same colour livery as the car used for the first part of the season with the exception to the chassis colour, it is now silver. The team also have a couple of new faces that will be working over the next 4 or 5 weeks with the team for the major races. Robbie Farr Motorsport and the EWT Team are very pleased to welcome Rob and Kathy Hart from America.
Rob’s experience can only be a plus for the team, Rob has worked with a few different drivers in the World of Outlaws and has a good knowledge of a lot of Australian tracks as he is a frequent visitor to our shores. Now Rob’s wife Kathy also has vast experience in sprintcar race throughout America and Australia, Some of the drivers Kathy has worked with here and in the US are Jamie Coby , Danny Smith, Phil Johnson, Joey Saldana, Robbie Farr and her Famous Father Bill Barrows from Mt Gambier.

Last Saturday Rob and Kathy came to Sydney to have a look at the team setup and to get the feel for things but with the meeting being cancelled most of Saturday was spent talking and getting to know some of the team members as well as checking out the current race car and the new car that is being assembled.

Other news is that there is now available a new Robbie Farr Motorsport T Shirt and Hat, these are available at the Parramatta track shops and will also be at the Race truck after the meetings. We are hoping to get them on the internet site shortly (www.robbiefarr.com) when we do we shall put up mail order/ email details. We would also like to thank Brian Darby and Greg Boscato for there help in supplying photo’s and releases for the internet site. To all the people that have visited our sites guest book we thankyou for your support and messages.

Finally Robbie Farr Motorsport would like to thank the EWT Race Team and all the sponsor for there support so far this season. We wish all race fans, Team Sponsors and our supporters a Merry Christmas
and a great New Year.

Until next time
Cheers
Robbie Farr
