Farr debuts new Avenger at Parramatta
Monday, 31 December 2001 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
Last night Robbie Farr debut a brand new Avenger, the car he hopes will lead him to victories in the $50,000 PCR Summer Slam and the all important 2002 Australian Sprintcar Title.

The new EWT Auto Dismantlers/Robbie Farr Motorsports machine looked almost identical to the Avenger Robbie has so successfully campaigned this season. Unfortunately minor teething problems hit Robbie with him finishing a little further back than usual in the A Main. The “Action Man” ended up with a very creditable 5th placing, but is confident after a couple of meetings the new car will be fast and extremely competitive.

Another successful night for Robbie Farr at Parramatta
Thursday, 27 December 2001 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
Robbie Farr was again one of the stand out performers last night at Sydney’s Parramatta City Raceway. Robbie’s EWT Auto Dismantlers/Robbie Farr Motorsports Avenger led the prestigious Valvoline Australia Sprintcar Grand Prix for a number of laps before being caught out lapping a couple of cars which allowed Kerry Madsen to blast past and take the lead and the race victory.

The highlight for Robbie last night was the four two lap match race series with Robbie being pitted against 16 times World of Outlaws Champ Steve Kinser and local stars Troy Little and Kerry Madsen. The “Action Man’s” #56 Standox Paints Avenger took out the series victory with two wins and a pair of second placings defeating Steve Kinser in the process.

Robbie Farr & the EWT team are not wasting time waiting for better weather
Wednesday, 19 December 2001 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
The past few weeks may not have seen any racing for the Robbie Farr Motorsport and EWT Race Team but the wheels are in motion for the upcoming Christmas and January part of the 2001/2002 season.

Now with the visiting Steve Kinser over the Chrismas period and the Parramatta $50000 to Win Summer Slam, things start to get a little busy not to mention some very serious and fast competitors will be on hand along with the regular Parramatta posse, so all efforts are being made to be ready for a full on assault. Towards the end of January the team will travel down to Victoria for the Classic at Warrnambool plus a possible show at Mt Gambiers Kings Challenge before returning to Parramatta for the Australian Title. To win the Australia Sprintcar Championship is something that would mean a lot to go along with the 1997/98 Australian Speedcar title.

Farr's strong second placing at Parramatta
Sunday, 02 December 2001 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
While he didn’t win the sprintcar A Main last night , Robbie Farr put in another stellar to finish with strong second placing at the Parramatta City Raceway.

Robbie as usual “was standing on the gas” in the 30 lap main. Coming from way down in the pack from position 14, the “Action Man” forged his way into second place to behind raceleader (and eventual race winner ) Troy Little on lap 15. Unfortunately Robbie didn’t get the break he had been hoping for and despite a few stoppages he had to settle into second position for the remainder of the race.

Another brillant Farr PCR race victory
Sunday, 25 November 2001 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
Robbie Farr stormed back from last weeks disappointment to take out a sensational sprintcar A Main victory last night at Sydney’s Parramatta City Raceway. Robbie was in blistering form last night finishing the night with two 1st placing and a second from the three events he contested.

Coming from way back in 13th position, Robbie’s EWT/Truckmate/Standox Paints/Valvoline Avenger suffered a bent jacobs ladder after tangling up with another car on the opening lap of the 30 lap A Main race. Taking alittle longer unusual, Robbie powered up into second place on lap 15 and set off after race leader Lynton Jeffery. The pair raced wheel to wheel before Robbie’s #56 Avenger forged past to take control of the race. Unfortunately the amber caution lights came out with Robbie having to return to position 2 for the restart. This happened again a couple of laps later just as Robbie hit the front. The race now had just five laps to run and again after racing wheel to wheel with Jeffery for two laps, Robbie forged into the lead going onto to score this third PCR win out of six meetings. Not a bad record!

Unlucky Farr finishes second at Parramatta
Sunday, 18 November 2001 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
Robbie Farr was again in sensational form last night at the Parramatta City Raceway, and after running wheel to wheel for the race lead, the “Action Man” had to settle for a brilliant second placing in the 30 lap A Main

Robbie’s EWT/Standox Paints/Central Districts Smash Repairs /TruckmateValvoline Avenger was on “fire” in the closing stages of the A Main. Coming from position 13, the car wasn’t running at its best in the early laps. A red light stoppage saw the team changing a few things on the machine allowing Robbie to forged his way through the field after the restart. He honed in on raceleader Kerry Madsen with only five laps to run. Running wheel to wheel with Madsen for a couple of laps, Robbie blasted past to take on control of the race. Unfortunately on the final tour, Robbie got caught up in lapped traffic which allowed Madsen to retake the lead, leaving Robbie to finish in a very very very close second. It was a sensation five or so final laps with Robbie and Kerry having the large PCR crowd thoroughly entertained.

Brilliant Farr's second Parramatta Victory for season 2001/2002
Sunday, 11 November 2001 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
Making up for the disappointment of the last two weeks, Robbie Farr last night stormed through the quality ParramattaCity Raceway sprintcar field to take out another brilliant victory in the 30 lap Sprintcar A Main.

After engine failure last week, the Robbie Farr Motorsport EWT Auto Dismantlers/ Standox Paints/Central Districts Smash/Truckmate/Valvoline team had reverted to the Gaerte powerplant they had used last year. From the moment Robbie hit the track the #56 Avenger looked fast. In his opening ten lap heat race, the “Action Man” coming from position six in the starting lineup, quickly forged his way up into third position. After having a sensational wheel to wheel battle with Lynton Jeffery for a number of laps, Robbie followed Jeffery home and settled for a creditable third placing. In the final heat event of the night, starting on the front row in position two, Robbie made no mistakes taking control of the race and had opened up a sizable gap over the field before continuing on to take out his first win of the night.

A rare DNF for the Robbie Farr Motorsport and the EWT Team
Monday, 29 October 2001 00:00    PDF Print E-mail
It was an unusual evening for the Farr Motorsport/EWT Auto Dismantlers teams last night with Robbie Farr posting a rare did not finish in the 30lap sprintcar A Main at the Parramatta City Raceway.

Robbie after starting from 16th position was forging his way through the pack and was running in a strong seventh or eight place on lap 10. After experiencing engine problems earlier, the Avenger was looking good out on the track as Robbie was starting to dial the car into the fast PCR track. Running down the back straight the #56 Standox Paints/Central Districts/Valvoline/Truckmate Avenger broke the differential, spinning it around with a piece smashing into the back of Robbie’s race seat. Robbie stopped the car immediately and after treatment returned back to the pits OK if not alittle sore. Unfortunately after winning the opening meeting seven days earlier, last night wasn’t to be another Farr Motorsport/EWT victory with Robbie having to watch the remaining 20laps from the pit enclosure.
